The Man Whom is the signature name for Wexford-based singer songwriter, producer/composer and multi-instrumentalist Ian Doyle. The Greatest Event is his debut Album. With the help of musicians and friends Doyle and his band retreated to the seclusion of a house in Kilrane Village and worked intensely to record the majority of the album. Ian will release his new single Sing ‘til there’s no songs left in 2012. Doyle has shared stages with the likes of Declan O’ Rourke, Mick Flannery and September last saw him join the inaugural line up for the John Martyn Memorial Festival consisting of Glen Hansard, Paddy Casey, Iarla O’ Lionard, John Martyn’s original band and a host of other musicians.

Ham Sandwich are an Irish indie band from Kells, Co. Meath. They have been around and about in one very interesting shape or another since 2003, but it wasn’t until the autumn of 2005 – with the release of their debut single, ‘Sad Songs’ – that they began to be known outside their home county.

In October of 2010 Ham Sandwich released their second LP entitled ‘White Fox’. Jam packed with potential radio hits, the first single lifted from the album entitled The Naturist signalled a different direction and intent by the band. It was not until February 2011 that Ham Sandwich finally reached their biggest audience yet with the release of their track ANTS combining their knack of creating a memorable pop melody with a dark twist. Aided greatly by an ingenious animated video, the track became a viral hit on the Internet accumulating over 120,000 hits on youtube to date. It went on to win best animated video at the 3rd Silversound festival in New York in January of this year. Due to the breakout success of ‘White Fox’ in 2011 the band have appeared at SXSW in Texas, Popkomm in Berlin and the twin festivals in Leeds & Reading in the UK.

Frankie Gavin is one of the genuine legends of Irish music. From his first TV appearance playing the tin-whistle when he was six, to seven solo albums, his adventures in the realms of Jazz, Gospel, and Klezmer, through to appearances and recordings with such luminaries as Earl Scruggs, Stephane Grapelli, Sir Yehudi Menuhin, and the ‘Rolling Stones’, ‘the prince of Irish fiddlers’ is one of the outstanding performers of the past thirty years. Frankie is also the original founding member and band leader of internationally acclaimed traditional super group ‘De Dannan’.

‘Frankie Gavin & De Dannan’ have played support to the ‘Rolling Stones’ at Slane Castle, performed with the ‘U.A.E. Philharmonic Orchestra’ in Dubai, performed with the ‘Dublin Philharmonic Orchestra’ during a tour of the USA and performed at ‘The White House’ and at the ‘US Capitol Building’ on three separate occasions for US President’s Clinton, Bush & Obama.

Electrifying’ is an adjective that’s too often used to describe certain performances but this is one instance where it’s absolutely unavoidable. If you’ve never been lucky enough to see ‘Frankie Gavin & De Dannan’ perform live, prepare to be… shocked.

“Frankie Gavin and De Dannan are the jewel in the crown, and as the musicians hit top gear some of the fast reels in particular are mesmerizing”– Carl Dixon, The Irish Examiner, August 2009

Dublin roots band I Draw Slow have been drumming up enthusiastic reviews in Ireland since the release of their top 10 selling second album, Redhills. Irish national broadcaster RTE made Redhills album of the week and Redhills has been welcomed to the playlists of stations across the country. However, their impact abroad is redrawing the map for these Irish/Americana songwriters.

They have been described in the UK press as “American top league equivalents” destined “to blow the opposition away”, drawing favourable comparisons with Gillian Welsh and Alison Krauss. The band has played to audiences in the UK, Germany, Denmark and Belgium and started 2012 with a performance with the Legendary Béla Fleck and the Flecktones and an appearance at the Celtic Connections Festival in Glasgow Scotland.
