CABL
CABL (pronounced Cable) are a self-proclaimed “indie rock band put through a broken dishwasher”. Drawing inspiration from DIIV, Title fight, Elliot Smith Big Thief and Deftones, their unique blend of Shoegaze, Pop, Emo, Nu Metal and Folk often deals with themes such as addiction, flawed family situations and mental illness. They surround these introspective ideas with carefully orchestrated noise, harmony, and infectious melodies.
Since their debut on Halloween night 2021, CABL have built up a reputation as one of the most exciting up and coming live acts in Ireland. This reputation has secured them support slots with bands such as Pillow Queens in Vicar Street, The Scratch, Ulrika Spacek, Robocobra Quartet and an Irish tour with Kynsy. As well as sold out headline shows in The Grand Social, Sin E, Whelan’s and Workman’s.
Their Chris Ryan (Just Mustard, NewDad) produced debut EP “See You In a Year and a Half” is a project that deals with themes of moral contradiction and loss expressed through narrative driven storytelling and surreal dream like imagery. Covering a wide array of genres from the Irish folk revival to washed out shoegaze, “S.Y.I.A.Y.A.A.H.” accumulated tens of thousands of streams in its first few months on Spotify. It saw CABL featured on playlist such as new music Friday, a breath of fresh Eire and Alternative Ireland, as well as receiving widespread nationwide radio coverage from stations like Nova, RTE 2fm, 8 Radio LMFM, and UCCFM.
As promised, CABL returned a year and a half later with their single “uh oh” in July of 2025. Proudcued by guitarist Luke White and mixed by Gilla Band’s Dan Fox, “uh oh” sees CABL lean more into their emo influences and opt for a more raw and live production style. “uh oh” maintains CABL’s signature blend of ambient and abrasive noise while focusing on intricate, intertwining guitar and bass work. This is supported by Sunny Day Real Estate inspired drum parts and hook driven, pop inspired song writing.
CABL are currently working on their debut album, expected in late 2026.
