Eve Clague
Hailing from Clonakilty, West Cork, Ireland, Eve Clague is a singer-songwriter whose music draws from the rich variety of sounds she grew up with in her home and community. Her songwriting is deeply personal and direct, influenced by folk, jazz, and the 60s era, with echoes of Joni Mitchell and Nick Cave.
Eve’s self-taught finger-picking style blends seamlessly with her emotive vocal delivery, crafting songs that explore love, friendship, heartbreak, and mental health. Her band features seasoned musicians from Cork’s music scene, and her arrangements naturally cross genres, all centered around her acoustic guitar.
Eve shared her debut album ‘Caught In Words’ last November 2024.
This album is a deeply personal exploration of emotions, blending hurt, love, and frustration. “It’s like a criticism of myself and my emotions,” Eve says of the work, which she initially titled ”Caught Up in Words” due to her struggles with dyslexia—a source of both frustration and growth in her life.
“I’m glad I settled on Caught in Words,” Eve explains, “especially when the album designer, Megan Clancy, pointed out that ‘In Words’ could also be a play on ‘Inwards.’ That’s exactly how I would describe the album—reflecting on emotions and introspection.”
