Hewan Mulugeta

Hewan is a Dublin based Ethiopian DJ who is making a scene in different Irish festivals and music venues. She is a vinyl collector with special interest in Ethiopian modern and trad music from 60s/70s and all African grooves from the same era. Her strictly vinyl selections cover, afro-funk, afrobeat, highlife, rare finds of all genres of African dance floor hits.

Her monthly radio show ‘ Ethiogroves, runs every four weeks on Dublin Digital Radio. Hewan has been part of Donal Dineen’s backstory guest DJ’s and played at All Together Now, Electric Picnic, Cork Jazz festivals and different venues in Dublin and across the counties. She has also supported and played with local and international DJs and artists like Hailu Mergia, Les Amazones d’Afrique, Yankari and more.
